Course News

  • Correction: The “Direction of Bias” knowledge check in the DAGs lecture slides had an error — the class size coefficient (omitting wealth) is biased away from zero (overstates the negative effect), not toward zero. The corrected slide is now posted.
  • Week 15: Presentation week! Slides due on Brightspace before your assigned day (April 28 or 30 at 1:15 PM). Final paper due Sunday May 4 at 11:59 PM.
  • Updated: The optional rough draft deadline is Monday 4/21 at 11:59 PM.
  • Updated: The word count ceiling for the research paper has been raised — solo papers now 2500–4500 words, pairs 3500–5500. Lower limits unchanged. AI attribution statements do not count toward the word limit.
  • Updated: The attendance requirement for working sessions has been reduced to 8 sessions. There are also new extra credit opportunities for LaTeX and push-button replication. See the full details.
